Pastoral Vacancy
We are pleased to announce that Rev. Ellery J. Steffensen has accepted the Divine Call to serve as our pastor, here at St. John's Petaluma. Untill he is installed, we gather at 2:00 p.m. on the Lord's Day to celebrate the fullness of the Divine Service with Holy Communion, with the help of several visiting pastors. Please keep Rev. Steffensen and his family in your prayers as they prepare to move to Petaluma. “The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.” Psalm 145:15-16
If you are not a regular member and wish to join us for Holy Communion, we ask that you either email ahead of time or arrive at least 15 minutes early and speak with the pastor before the service. He will ask if you are baptized, and if you publicly share our confession of the Christian faith, as we desire all to be united in the same confession before we commune together. (1 Corinthians 1:10; 11:27–29)
If you have not had the opportunity to be baptized and publicly confess the faith we share, please mention this to the pastor or another leader so we can arrange that.
